"If our devotion is to the cause of humanity, we will be quickly defeated and broken-hearted, since we will often be confronted with a great deal of ingratitude from other people. But if we are motivated by our love for God, no amount of ingratitude will be able to hinder us from serving one another."

baseball

Somehow we are about halfway through the season already.
How in the world did that happen??
Seriously, I finally just got all my get-to-the-field-on-time-with-only-73%-our-house-in-tow system in place.  I finally feel like I can settle in and enjoy the season and it's about over.
Sigh.
Well, not really.  Cuz All Star season goes on and on and on.
Like the gift that keeps on giving.

Titus jammed his fingers during pre-game warm ups.
His famous wipe-mouth-with-shirt was being done with great care.
Ouch.  He kept wiggling and stretching them out.
Still managed to throw the ball.
 But, gosh, they really hurt.
Good thing jammed fingers have no impact on your reflexes.
YIKES!
Rallying the team.  Surprisingly, we were losing.
 Out!

Last night was a much better game for us.  We played well and won it 10-4.
Despite rain and threatening clouds, we pushed through and played on.
His first triple of the night!  I missed it at the bat but got him landing safely at 3B
 Happily hopping home!
 Safely safe.
 "Ping!"
 Another triple!

Headed to 1B
 Rounding 1B
 Tagging up at 2B
 Running toward 3B!
Sharing the joy with Coach Eric
 Love this one!
He did a good job on the mound as well.
During the game I captured this shot.  Yes, it looks quite endearing.
However, he was tapping Shawn to let him know he was "starving".
Hahahahaha!  So Titus...

Ms. Debbie stopped by on her way home from her husband's office.
So glad she did so.  We are so spoiled by her love for us!

We also brought along a few of these goobers.

We left the field and headed for home knowing what awaited us...
Ms. Debbie had brought over Mr. Ellis' fave snack - buffalo chicken dip.
She had made it for the Ellises and us last time they visited.  She caught wind that he was coming up for work and whipped up a batch.  Yay!!
Not a speck was left in the pan.

More on Elijah's games coming soon.
