"If our devotion is to the cause of humanity, we will be quickly defeated and broken-hearted, since we will often be confronted with a great deal of ingratitude from other people. But if we are motivated by our love for God, no amount of ingratitude will be able to hinder us from serving one another."

School - Part 2

Joseph's first day as a 6th grader!
Like I said, it was too dark this morning to snap a "First Day of School" picture.  Here's the re-enactment at 3pm.

Last Wednesday night, Joseph and I went to Middle School Orientation.  What a great idea!
It seemed to pacify any nervous jitters that were stirring and provided some peace prior to the start of school.
We walked through a mock schedule of his day and met each teacher.
He was even able to attempt to unlock a locker while there.
He saw many "old" friends from last year and seemed excited to get started this year.
I am so grateful.  He had a rough start in Harrisburg last year.  Painfully homesick and missing all he loved and knew.  But God has been faithful to bring new friends into his life.  He had also increased His faith and built up Joseph's confidence.  We are looking forward to this year with great joy and peace in knowing that God has already gone before Joseph and will see him through the ups and downs of 6th grade as a middle schooler.
Sitting in his math class
Hanging out with some friends that he made last year and played basketball with this past summer.
He and Jordan are smaller in stature.  Let's just say they haven't hit their growth spurt yet.
During the orientation, the principal told the 6th graders not to believe the 8th grade students when they told them that they'd fit in the lockers.
So...in an attempt to prove her wrong - they tried it AND fit!
