spring break

well, it was FAR from a break, that's for sure!  we were nonstop busy, but had a great time off from school. here's a recap of what went down.

 tuesday evening, we took a crew to the 6th street park to shoot hoops

 we met new kids there and threw them all onto two teams

 destyn and shawn

 kids came and went

 and they played some more

 and even more

some big boys showed up and the littles headed to the playground.

no pictures because it was pretty dark by then.  but shawn and JB did real well.

wednesday brought more of the same.  basketball, bike riding and roaming around.

this is some gross creature than elijah found while helping miss monica garden.

ew and yuck.  but he was thrilled since he'd just studied cocoons and such in school.

i merely mentioned that i needed to check the mower in the shed to see if it worked and destyn, with elijah in tow, were off.  destyn got it started and began mowing the backyard until it ran out of gas.  bummer.  he's such a great kid!

he and bruce ate dinner with us that nigt, sloppy joes.  for real, the boy can eat!

destyn put down EIGHT sloppy joe sandwiches.  eeps!

 thursday, joseph decided he was going to "work out".  he does this occasionally and then wears himself completely out until a few weeks later.  strange boy.

destyn immediately signed up as trainer.  smart boy.

 bruce got into the act.  this kid can jump rope like nobody's business!

 lunges - ugh.  i'm not a fan.

dan had a ball game and i promised him we'd go watch.  unfortunately, he didn't play,

but these three goons did.

 the fords invited us to go to veterans park and hit balls.

after a few hours of baseball we went out for pizza with our crew and the fords.

great times - great memories being made!

when we got home bill, bruce and destyn stayed for a movie.

"Courageous"  good stuff.

saturday while shawn had elijah and titus at practice, destyn taught joseph

how to mow the lawn.  the day before i had taken bill, my 3, bruce and destyn to lowe's to get a part to repair the basketball goal and a gas can for the mower.

shawn suggested joseph get a lesson and finish what destyn had started the other day.

after baseball practice, shawn declared a movie afternoon.

they watched "Defiance" and ate ice cream.

easter sunday we worshipped at east shore baptist with the morrisons.

then home to just the five of us and a traditional easter dinner.  yum!

i napped in the living room and shawn napped in the basement.

i think the boys played outside...not sure.

quite in the neighborhood as everyone was out with their families.

mornday morning we had a special visit!  the saeva's stopped in on their way from NY to NC.
we looooved seeing them and miss our regular visits in our old neighborhood back in NC.

 they only stayed long enough to take a quick house tour, pee and grab some waters to go.
so thankful to have an opportunity to see you all and hug your necks.
we really do miss you guys.

 monday, the last day of spring break.  bikes and kids are back.

they played manhunt for most of the day.

this just cracks me up for some reason

 2nd street crew plus ethan and drew from around the corner chillin' on the gilbert's porch

that's it!  they went back to school on tuesday and i about died of the silence.

not really, but it was strange.
