"If our devotion is to the cause of humanity, we will be quickly defeated and broken-hearted, since we will often be confronted with a great deal of ingratitude from other people. But if we are motivated by our love for God, no amount of ingratitude will be able to hinder us from serving one another."

final game

Basketball season always goes by so quickly.  The season is officially over now and we have already signed two boys up for baseball.  Goodness.
Winning our final game tied us in 3rd place for the rec league.  Not bad for newbies.  The boys played very well all season long.  Joseph achieved his own personal goal to average 10 points a game.  Way to go JB!  Titus proved himself worthy of the "move up" to the next age group.  He was a determined and focused player on the court.  Elijah was, by far, the most aggressive player on our team this year.  Great job boys!  I absolutely loved watching every minute of each game.
Remembering back to the first game where I was caught off guard with a gust of loneliness in the bleachers and having to fight back tears, I realize that God was faithful to provide new faces and friends.  Honestly, by the end of the season, I was sad to bid some of those new faces farewell.  We had a few visitors of our own at our last game. Bill, our neighbor across the street, came to cheer us on along with his lil bro, Caden, and his mom and, of course, Uncle O.  Bill played in the same league with us but on another team, so it was fun to watch each other play if they happened to be the game before or after our game.  But this time they made a special trip to come watch our final game and cheer us on.  That meant a lot to us.
After many attempts to coordinate schedules, the Morrisons too, showed up to cheer us on.  Thanks for taking time out of your week to come holla and yell for us!
 Elijah - fearless and aggressive
Joseph - dedicated, determined and skilled
Titus - tenaciously and tirelessly competitive
 Our cheering section!
Yep.  David and Goliath, right here on the court.
