Our first Christmas in Harrisburg was wonderful! Yes, we missed all of our NC friends but we managed to eat, laugh and enjoy ourselves immensely at our neighbors, the Gilberts.
Titus hid the mischevious elf.
Getting ready to open the gifts. See my new red chair. It's for my desk in the front sitting room. Love it!
New bible
Titus got everyone their very own dradle.
Ripstick!
New basketball!
Titus was so pleased with his gift giving.
He was so delighted in watching us open our dradles.
Joseph's dradle
New Adidas slides
Another Ripstick

Ew. I cannot even bare to look at the pictures in this book. gross.
Bible
New wallet
Old watch made new
Chapstick
Swedish fish
New clothes
Stocking gifts
Jen was kind enough to invite us and so we quickly took her up on the offer. Their family both immediate and extended, made us feel quite welcome. We are so thankful to have "landed" next door to such great people. God's so good, ain't He?
Our boys were so patient as we instituted new traditions in a new land. We did NOT open gifts the second their eyeballs sprang open. We ate a leisurely breakfast, chit-chatted and then, finally, we opened our gifts to one another. It was a great morning with our little family unit.
Later on we headed next door for a great meal and fun with new peeps! We ended our evening with our core bible study crew, minus Dan, for a showing of The Nativity Story. It was a Merry Christmas indeed. We are so thankful that in the midst of our homesickness, we know that our God loved us enough to send His Son to rescue us from sin and death. I marvel at how willingly Jesus left all glory and wonder of heaven, for me. And, I have the nerve to complain of homesickness...sheesh.

I loved the pictures, especially the chapstick one- ha ha! But I have to admit, I am totally not cool. I have no idea how those boys are going to use the Ripsticks. Do you play some sort of sport with them? shrug. Good thing you like me even though I'm clueless about boy stuff! Help... before JJ gets too big! xoxoxo
